Duke & Duchess
We acquired our first Dalmatian, "Duke", a two-year old Dal, in 1971. After enrolling in an obedience class, we quickly became involved in performance events. Soon thereafter we added "Duchess" to our young family to show in conformation. Throughout the years we have exhibited Dalmatians in conformation and obedience rings as well as in Junior Showmanship.
We strive to produce healthy, well-socialized puppies raised in our home for companions as well as competition events. Our breeding program at Diamond D has been based on the top-producing dogs of the Colonial Coach and Coachman lines. We are especially proud of Multi BiS Ch. Fireman's Freckled Friend ROMX "Spotty" as five of Spotty's maternal ancestors were bred or owned by us. We continue to breed and show our Dalmatians on a limited basis.
We have served as officers or board members in various obedience, all-breed and specialty clubs during the last 40 years. Joan is approved by the American Kennel Club to judge all Hound breeds, the Hound Group, all Non-Sporting breeds and the Non-Sporting and several Sporting breeds, Miscellaneous Classes and Best in Show as well as Junior Showmanship.
